A young man suspected to be a son to Governor Tanko Almakura of Nasarawa state knocked down a student of Government Science School, Lafia and ran away.
Ovye Amos a JSS 2 student was said to have been killed last Sunday evening by a car allegedly to belong to the son of the state Governor, who according to eye witnesses the driver was under the influence of drugs.
A staff with the school named undisclosed who witness the scene narrates thus; “Ovye Amos went for weekend to see his parent at Mada Station in Agidi Development Area of Nasarawa Eggon, returning yesterday evening to attend prep, but he discovered that he had forgotten to buy some items and decided to cross the road to obtain it from nearby shop, suddenly a car came with high speed and knocked him down. Ovye died instantly.
The driver never care to even recognized whether something happen but continue speeding until it hit a mosque where people quickly rushed him to the nearest police station for safety after noticing it is the governor’s son because some people were tempted to attack him ” says the I-witness.
Although, students of the said school yesterday Monday 20 March 2017 took to the street to protest for the killing of their student. The students who matched chanting songs of solidarity demanding justice and guarantee of their lives.
The decease body was since taken to Mada station for burial.
However, the people are watching to see what the authority will do now that it involved the number one citizen of the state.
