A group under the aegis of “Stand Up For Benue Now” yesterday called for the inclusion of the state in the North East Development Commission, NEDC, as it was among states ravaged by insurgency.

He called on members of the National Assembly from Benue state to prevail on both the federal and state government to ensure the inclusion of the state among states due to covered in the commission.

Governor Ortom while addressing the protesters, commended them for the orderly manner they conducted themselves in presenting their grievances.

The governor who spoke through his Chief of Staff, Mr. Terwase Orbunde said Benue was among states in the country that suffered series of attacks by insurgents as 13 local government areas were affected.

He assured them that he would take their grievances to the presidency for necessary action.
